What feels good

I hear raindrops as I slumber and I smile
Holding my mother’s hand and jumping in and out of puddles, memories
As I stroll through the park in full autumnal bloom and exotic beauty
I smile, wanting to run through the jumble of leaves, like a child
The sea breeze brushes my face with a slight spray
I walk barefoot, sand between my toes, walking through the ebb and flow
Remembering trying winkles, finding crabs hiding in rock pools and building sandcastles
The sweet smell of candy floss, and the excitement of finding a starfish
friendship, uncontrollable histerics, shuggyboats that always made me sick,
Butlins, the monorail, new places to explore, the huge swimming pool, the red coats and the Beaver Club brings happy memories of summer and more
Going into town with my mam, linking arms, laughter, the rainy days
Getting on a bus to my grandma’s, bringing her fish and chips, the warmth from the coal fire, a good old fashioned brew
Music is my soul, waiting for my dad coming home from abroad with a suitcase full of cassette tapes, a huge smile on my face
Friendship and Family are the smile on my face, the warmth in my heart and my reason for everyday. Never forget those who truly light up your life, who are there through good and bad and who pick you up when you are down and help you rise to higher heights.

I love to lie in bed with the window open and listen to the rain and the wind. I love the way snow feel on my tongue when I stick it out to catch the snowflakes. I find poetry a way of expression and reading a way to get lost in another time. I find I am drawn to artistic, unique, honest, genuine people. I like different, I am not materialistic, I am not a millionaire or by any means wealthy but I am in rich in so many other ways. I don't understand people who hunt animals for pleasure. I am an animal lover and humanitarian. Connecting with other people is inspiring, listening to their stories, helping the less fortunate, caring, hugging, understanding and giving a little of my time. A simple act of kindness could be a life changer for a person in need of that connection.
